Hello, old friends. I'm sorry for being inactive for so long! College has kept me extremely busy for the past year, and even though I've taken two art classes, I haven't created much worth uploading in a while (check out my latest two deviations, if you haven't already). That will all be changing soon, though, as a VERY exciting opportunity has presented itself. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to disclose all the information, but I will be illustrating a published children's series that might get signed by Scholastic next year. The best part? It's about dogs, and I loveeee drawing dogs.

I've also done several alt fashion photoshoots in the past year that I need to upload, and will be uploading a new userpic soon. Hopefully, all my belated submissions will make up for my lack of deviations over the past year.

ALSO: I've decided to enter the cosplay scene, and have almost completed my costume for Poison Ivy. I can't wait to hit up the cons alongside my good friend (who is also a wonderful cosplayer), ! There's also a small chance I'll be popping up as Narcissa Malfoy-- I've already finished that costume. My current icon is a tiny snippet of the look I created for her this summer, based on the inspiring and beautiful Harry Potter artwork of . I'm not sure it'd be worthwhile without a Lucius by my side, though... hint hint HINT to all you sexy blonde men.

That's all for now, mis amigos. Now that the run of Urinetown is over (that show was SO MUCH FUN, but so draining) and that winter break is about to begin, I'll hopefully get a change to pump out some art.

Clearly, I haven't updated my dev-art in a long, long while. As cliche as it sounds, I simply haven't had time to draw. Being a Theatre major is very time-consuming. Since there isn't room for a tablet on my college desk, I can't exactly draw even when I DO have time.

I declared a minor in studio art, however, so that should all change soon. I'm taking the pre-req class "Drawing I" next semester, and I'm really excited for it-- despite the fact that it's going to be agonizingly basic stuff like shading spheres and discovering the wonder of a color wheel. ]:


Btw, Ifreakinglove this time of the year. Even though traffic is horrific and going anywhere public is a nightmare, I can't help but grin when I see Christmas trees and holiday decor (to those that know me well, this is extremely ironic). I made a gingerbread house with my best friend today, and it was a blastttt. Now all I have to do is, er, my Christmas shopping. I always procrastinate on doing it, and apparently I still haven't learned my lesson after having my ass kicked by the mall year after year.

Also, this song defines my life. Things have been getting a lot better for me lately (autumn was an onslaught of never-ending shit), but sometimes it just feels good to angst.

Okay, so I just deleted and scrapped over half of my gallery. I obviously have an extreme dislike for anything I did before the year of 2006, and the only pictures that remain from that era are either sentimental or not-quite-eyesores. BY THE WAY, there is extenuating evidence that Sweeney Todd was actually a red-headed man, not a guy smothered in eyeliner with a stupid, biology-defying white stripe in his hair. So there. :[


Sorry about that, homies. I'm rather cranky because I got reeeeally sick this week and still have choir and theatre activities every day after school until late hours, allotting me absolutely no time to recover.

However, in awesome news, I just ordered a new Baby jsk from egl_comm_sales, and am also about to order an Innocent World headdress. I'm excited, but I'm sure I'd be beaten with a herring if my mother knew how much money I've spent on lolita clothing lately. I can't help it! I'm addicted.

GAHHH. FUCK YOU, SWEENEY TODD MOVIE. FUCK YOU SO HARD.

Yeah, I went to see it on opening night with the entire Players cast of our own Sweeney Todd, minus our Johanna. And honestly? The effects, costumes, and some of the casting was amazing (Yaaay Sacha B. Cohen!)-- but the two leads sucked. Depp showed little to no emotion or acting capability, and Helena B. Carter's singing was wayyyy too obnoxiously sweet and frail.

Overall I liked the movie a lot, but I was disappointed with the two actors I trusted most to do a good job.

AND NOW MY FAVORITE FANDOM IS OVERRUN WITH FANGIRLS AND HOT TOPIC IDIOTS. HATEHATEHATE.

Yeah, I'm quite bitter about it. Never before has my picture of Johanna gotten this much attention, but when I go to the er's profiles there is never a single mention of the 2005 Broadway Revival version, which is the only version worth listening to.

New Sweeney fans, do yourselves a favor and listen to the 2005 version with real singers.


BTW: I've had over three people tell me that our production was better. Bwahaha! ;]
